Happy 4th of July!

We went to Seaside to watch the fireworks. As you can see, Will was OVER it! He was exhausted from a fun and full week. He slept 6 hours in the car the next day:)

At first he did not know what to think of the fireworks but by the end he was enjoying them. He kept wanting to go back and forth between me and Nick.
I love these peeps! Anna and I went on our first beach trip together when we were 7 years old! Annslee and Katherine joined us a little later. Ecc 4:12 "Through one may be overpowered, two can defiend themselves. A Cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Some favorite beach pictures....

Vacay '09!!

As soon as VBS was over we loaded up the car and headed out of town for 10 days. The first stop was dinner with Grammy and Papa in Atlanta, the second stop was Sara's baby shower and my parents 60th birthday part in Auburn and the 3rd stop was the beach for EIGHT days! The first 4 days at the beach was just me Nick and Will and then on Wednesday evening my 3 childhood friends and their hubbies and kids joined us for our annual beach trip. Every part of it was so much fun! Below is the slide show that I put on facebook with captions under each picture. I will post some of my favorites later.

Upward Bound

The last two weeks have been full but fun weeks. Two weeks ago I taught the 4 year old class at VBS! We had a full house of 20 little 4 year olds running around but I had lots of good help to make it a little less crazy:)

A good example of....

...a 13 month old that does not understand the concept of "GO GREEN!"

He had way to much fun pulling all his wipes out of the package this morning! But to all of you recyclers please don't worry--we did not waste them:)

Why not do it like Mowgli??

Will sure does!!!! Will has totally perfected his Mowgli crawl that I think he might not ever want to walk! He can totally stand up and take up to 5 or 6 steps but he can haul it this way so why not, right? Check it out...it is hysterical to watch!

Man, he is fast like this!!!
Maybe he does it to get attention from the girls??? ha!

We are hoping to see alot more pictures like this with him standing like a big boy:)

The life of luxury...

We had a girls weekend near Cashiers, NC. this past weekend. My friend Elizabeth is back in Athens visiting her family while her husband is in Iraq for a year. She has two precious little girls that her parents kept for the weekend so we could go to her mountain house and just chill. And chillin is exactly what we did!!!! We spent many late night hours sitting on the back porch laughing and talking until we could not stay awake any longer!

Saturday we spent 6 hours sitting by the pool laying in the sun with an occassional dip in the pool!
We ate lunch at the club house next to the pool and mmmmmm... I can still taste those yummy sweet potato fries:)

This is the view from the pool!! The mountains were just absolutley gorgeous in the background. The Lord's creativity and majesty was overflowing all around us.

Me and Ms. Megan cooling off in the pool!

The bathing beauties....Shannon, Megan, Me and Elizabeth

Saturday night we went to this cute little restaurant in downtown Cashiers and met up with Heather .
No, this is not the Biltmore....this is Heather's in-laws mountain home that we visited Saturday night! Isn't beautiful! I could not even fit the front of the whole house in it!! The hubbies stayed here all weekend and took care of the kids for us. All weekend Nick kept calling me and telling me about how unbelievable this house was. And when I actually saw it I could not believe my eyes...

This is the view from the back of the house

It was so good to see Nick and Will on Saturday night. I miss these boys so much when I am away! It makes me appreciate them even more. They were having so much fun and went to a sliding rock on Saturday morning and then took a 3 hour hike. So to say the least they had a fun " boy" weekend while we were having a "girly" weekend!

We all hung out on the back porch for a while and ate ice cream and pound cake!

The Lord has been very, very gracious to bless us with wonderful, Christian friends that encourage us in our faith and our walk with the Lord. And the icing on the cake is that they are so much fun to be around too!

Go Braves!

Last weekend was a fun little getaway for Nick and I! Friday afternoon I dropped squirt off at his grammy and papas house and headed to meet Nick in Atlanta for a fun night of dinner and a Braves game. Nick is in charge of the interns at his work this summer so he took them to the game. Even though Will had a little fever I know he had a wonderful time with his grandparents. They got him a new swing and little swimming pool! I am sure they played and played until they were too tired to play anymore. After the game we went back to Nick's parents house to spend the night and then the next morning we headed to a wedding for one of my old co-workers. Will was still not feeling great so we had to cut the reception a little short. We had a great weekend!
